Massey University and the School Social Workers of Aotearoa New Zealand advise that the Fourth International Social Work in Schools Conference held in April 2009 in Auckland was a huge success.

The conference was held at the Spencer on Byron Hotel inTakapuna on the North Shore at Auckland and 245 delegates attended.

International Declaration on the Rights of the Child

2009 will mark the 20th anniversary since the United Nations passed the International Declaration on the Rights of the Child. Our conference will provide an opportunity to explore how social work in schools has contributed to fostering children's rights and how this objective can be further enhanced in the third decade of the declaration.
